Home #maplesyrupMaple syrup and Honey All natural Indiana honey and maple syrup produced and bottled in Corydon IN. We are a small producer of both and sell out quickly each year. Woodcrafts Beekeeper toolboxes and other woodcrafts. Most of the wood we use is milled in our local area. We are blessed to be located in the Central hardwood forest region of the United States. This area produces the best hardwood trees on this planet. Also building custom items to your specifications. Laura’s Kitchen Laura’s Kitchen. Here she does her baking, canning, bottling, lip balms, and hand salves. The little orange plaque on the left rear wall is a food permit from the health department. Wildlife paradise Wildlife paradise. This once was a cattle farm and as the empty pastures return to forest land, so do the animals return. Coyotes, bobcats, racoons, opossums, skunks, turkeys, snakes, turtles, and the occasional bear swimming across the Ohio River from Kentucky. Plus many more animals that walk, fly, and swim. Pretty much a wildlife paradise. Except for the foxes. The above coyote will kill every fox it can find. Forestry We planted a lot of trees. About 14,000 walnut, oak, hickory, and cherry. It’s not hard to do as it’s mostly done with a tractor and implements. Many more species self-seeded like maple, tulip, cedar, and elms. Some day those trees will be market trees. However, our new hobby is planting a few each of the species native to this region that are not here. Hopefully these trees will grow and produce more trees. Farm life We have a lot of fun. That’s one of my kids. The one on the left thinks she is one of my kids, too. Somedays I wonder why we ever leave the farm although my neighbor tells me we do as my wife drives to town 3 times a day. I walk to my woodshop and the dogs follow me. (They have a doggy door.) Laura walks to her kitchen and the dogs know they can’t follow her. (She doesn’t even want me in her kitchen that’s sorta rude I think. Something about me being dusty.) There’s always work to be done, something broken that needs fixed, or something misplaced that needs to be found. But, there’s always time to have some fun. That’s us That’s us.
